Documents processed locally: what that means in practice
AInonymizer detects and replaces identifying information on your Apple Silicon Mac. During normal use, source documents are not uploaded to AInonymizer or a cloud AI service for processing.
Model download
Downloading a selected AI model requires internet access and connects to Hugging Face download infrastructure. Those requests do not include document contents. After the model is downloaded, document processing can run locally without internet access.
Storage and deletion
Imported documents, extracted text, results and a local audit trail are stored on your Mac. App deletion controls do not remove original files, saved exports, backups or synchronized copies outside the app. Beta and pilot form submissions are separate: Formspree stores those contact requests in the cloud and emails our team. Do not submit patient information or document contents.
